Reflection

Days passed by quickly. Our first grading period is about to end. I have learned many things not just about the topics in every subject but also about developing ourselves and being more mature.

Every morning, during our first period in the morning, we heard a lot from our adviser. We had bible studies sometimes. I have learned a lot from that. Also, every time that we were being scolded, there are lessons learned. We are trained to be more responsible. To be observant around our surroundings. About cleanliness and such.

In this period, I have encountered challenges. One is about dividing my time. I spent most of my time surfing the net, daydreaming, and watching TV. I would sleep late at night to finish our assignment. Sometimes, I rush at school. Another is about my attitude of not listening during discussions sometimes.

In response to those challenges, I tried controlling myself whenever I surf the net. I will just check my accounts in the different social networking sites for a while and then research for my assignments. I also have been more attentive during discussions.

Moving on, I will continue doing my best. Strive harder. Improve all my good attitudes while change those bad attitudes I have. I know that if I improve, I will be better in the next grading period.

Progress, FINALLY!

The third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno Aquino III or more known as PNoy, had opened the minds of many Filipinos. To continue cooperating with the government so we can easily have the progress that we want.

At first, I was a bit confused when  I heard PNoy talking about the past, particularly, the Martial Law. I can't see any connection of that. But as he continued his SONA, a smile formed in my lips. I can hear improvements. I can hear progress. Those midwives and nurses had their jobs and work experiences. The number of unemployed people decreased in number. 4.57 million students now are also going to school everyday and poverty is not a problem for them anymore. Crimes also decreased in number. The amount of pension the old ages get will increase. From 500, goes up not lower than 1000 pesos. Investors also have their line just to invest for the Philippines. With these I can say, there are already improvements in our country.

PNoy also presented about his plans. He said that the NAIA airport will be repaired. They will also be new airports like New Bohol Airport in Panglao, New Legaspi Airport in Daraga and many more. The roads will be also repaired. PNoy believes that there will be more improvements yet to come if we all work together.

About what PNoy said regarding the number of tourists coming here in the Philippines, there will only a possibility that ten million tourists will visit us within only a year if we improve the cleanliness of our country. All of us, let us help. We can help by observing cleanliness in our surroundings. By not throwing our trashes anywhere. Also in the bodies of water, our trashes should not be thrown in there. Crimes here in the Philippines should also be lessen or be stopped. The wide spread of poverty also should be lessen. Cleanliness, crime and wide spread of poverty. The three main reasons why tourists don't like our country. The three things we should take an action of.

Some says that the improvements were not true. Philippines is still suffering. We are all still suffering. Maybe there are really improvements but we just can't feel the improvements directly.

I believe in PNoy. I believe in his point of view. He is a good leader to our county. Congratulations for our progress. We can still improve. Progress, FINALLY!

''Eating vegetables make it a habit, everyday let us serve it."

Nowadays, kids would prefer to eat junk foods than vegetables. Junk foods that are full of preservatives and not healthy. I can say that in the near future, those kids will become unhealthy or malnourished.

But even so, there are many factors why we can't serve vegetables everyday. One is financial problem. Vegetables are very expensive. When you go to the market, your one thousand bill can't buy vegetables that can full your basket. Maybe only one fourth of your basket can only be filled. With that, we can't serve vegetables daily.

Another factor is the interest of the kids to eat. Let's make the vegetable dishes look more appealing so that the kids will increase their appetite. Or maybe chop the vegetables in tiny pieces that you can't barely see them and mix them to the food so they won't notice that they are actually eating vegetables.

According to http://www.nutrition-and-you.com/vegetable-nutrition.html , Eat at least 5-7 servings of fresh vegetables every day. Seasonal vegetables should be encouraged. Include variety in vegetable type and color in your diet. Yellow and orange color vegetables are rich in Vitamin A, α and β carotenes, zea-xanthins and crypto-xanthins, where as dark green vegetables are very good source of minerals and phenolic flavonoid anti-oxidants.

These are also facts about eating vegetables by http://veggies4everyone.com/getting-veggie-goodness-the-benefits-of-vegetable-diet

• High fiber vegetables can keep you away from colon cancer. The fiber that you get from vegetables act like a broom that can sweep your entire digestive system clean. Studies have shown that people who have more vegetables in their diets suffer less from this kind of cancer than those whose diets revolve mainly on meat.
• If you think that meat is the only source of protein in your diet, then you are dead wrong. The fact is you can get an equal amount of protein from a tablespoon of soybeans or tofu compared to the average serving of meat.
• Vegetables give us a better feeling of satisfaction compared to eating an all-meat diet. Why is this so? Because as we digest more vegetables instead of meat, we create less ketones in the body – which is responsible for that nauseating feeling that we often have after eating a lot of meat in a meal.
• Vegetables can taste a lot better than meat. Many people hate vegetables simply because they do not taste as good as meat. But given that you know how to cook them, you can turn out with wonderful and delicious recipes that you will surely love having meal after meal.

It is really a need for us to eat vegetables daily. They are rich in vitamins and minerals that our body needs everyday. Many diseases have spread. Most of them have no cure. We need vegetables to prevent getting those diseases.
